LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR VISITORS CENTER AND HUB FOR COMMUNITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

AIM : The project is in alignment with AD studio, with landscape consideration for the same site. The facility will act as a visitor center for people visiting the Karave wetland area near NRI complex Seawoods; which are remarkable wetlands used by a large number of migratory and resident water birds. It will also act as a center for increasing awareness and conducting programs related to environment and mangroves.

Design considerations:

  • Conservation of ecological character
  • Look for an innovative approach
  • Culture and lifestyle of local people
  • Integrate the economic benefits of wetlands with urban design
  • Integrate the landscape of wetlands in urban design
  • The design must be species-specific.
  • Hydrodynamic design of wetlands
  • Design with ease of maintenance
  • Ensure safety in design
  • Try to create awareness among people through design
